What SquadUp stores about you, who can see each piece of it, and how to delete all of it.

Last updated 12 October 2026

Who sees what

Each fact sits under the smallest group of people who can see it.

Anyone with the link

Your public profile and every game page you're on.

  • Your name, photo and public handle
  • Your city and area, never your street or exact location
  • The sports you play and the skill level you picked
  • Your reliability score, show-up rate, games played and hosted, late dropouts, pays-on-time rate and positive-rating percentage
  • The games you're in, as your name on the team sheet

Players in the same game

Only people holding a slot or a waitlist place in that game.

  • The host's UPI ID, so players can pay their share. It never appears on the public game page
  • Messages the host sends to the game

You and the host

The host of that one game, nobody else.

  • Whether your share is unpaid, says paid or confirmed
  • Whether you were marked Showed or No-show, and any dispute note you add

Only you

Nobody else on SquadUp, hosts included.

  • Your email address and sign-in details
  • Your notifications and notification settings
  • Your saved UPI ID, until you post a game. Then players in that game see it
  • How each teammate rated you. Profiles only show the totals

What we store

Only what it takes to run a game, settle the split and show who turns up. We don't sell any of it, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Account
Your email and password, or your name and email from Google if you use Continue with Google. Passwords are stored hashed by our sign-in provider; we can't read them.
Profile
Name, optional photo, city, area, sports with your self-rated skill, and your public handle.
Games
Games you host or join, your slot number, waitlist places, dropouts and whether you showed up. As a host, the venue, time, turf cost and settings of each game you post.
Payments
The amount of each share and its status. You pay hosts directly by UPI, so SquadUp never sees your bank account, card or UPI app, and never holds money. If you host, we store the UPI ID you enter.
Ratings
The answers you give about teammates after a game (on time, good to play with, skill accurate) and the totals built from answers about you.
Notifications
The in-app updates sent to you, such as slot filled, payment reminders and game reminders, and whether you've read them.
Usage
Which pages you open and which buttons you tap, so we can see what works and what doesn't. If you arrive from an ad, we keep the ad's click ID in a cookie for up to 90 days to see which ads bring players.
Cookies
One to keep you signed in, one for usage measurement, and the ad click ID above. None of them follow you to other sites.

Who handles it for us

These services run parts of SquadUp and process your data only to do that job.

Supabase
Stores the database, handles sign-in and keeps profile photos.
Vercel
Hosts the website.
PostHog
Measures page views and button taps.
Google
Signs you in, only if you choose Continue with Google.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open. Rating a game closes 48 hours after it ends, and old notifications expire on their own.

When you delete your account, your personal data goes with it. The games you played stay on record so other players' splits and reliability still add up, with your name replaced by “Former player”.

Delete your account

  1. Step 1: Log in and open Settings.
  2. Step 2: Choose Delete account.
  3. Step 3: Type DELETE and confirm.

That removes your profile, photo, UPI ID, settings, notifications and sign-in. On past team sheets your name becomes “Former player”.

Hosting an upcoming game with players in it? Cancel it first from its manage page. Settings won't delete your account while those players are counting on the game.

Open Settings

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can see, correct and erase the personal data we hold about you.

You can do most of it yourself: your profile page shows what others see, Settings lets you change your name, photo, city, sports, UPI ID and notifications, and Delete account erases the rest.

If this page changes, we'll update the date at the top. The Terms explain how games, shares and payments between players work.

SquadUp doesn't book turfs or handle money. Players pay hosts directly by UPI.
